Default Crystal Reports "PartTags"

I was able to create a blank report in Crystal using an existing XML connection with the database, and just copied over the field that I need and things seem to be functioning fine.

Thanks,

Our company is requiring a much wider PartTags Crystal Reports than the current default report displays. Crystal Reports is not allowing my to expand the default PartTags report of 5 1/2 inches, and our labels allow us to include up to 7 inches.

How do you make this report wider?

Did you try the layout tab on Details (not Details a) section in Section Export?

Linda

I know in our system I've been told by support that this label can not be
resized. We are on 9.05.607. I've also asked for the ability to add
additional fields to this report as we need the traceability of the
operator and the actual resource ID it was made on but since it's generated
from a temporary table this isn't something I can add easily to the report
data definition at all. Support created an enhancement request but who
knows when they will get to that...

You can add additional fields to this report, the RDD is called MtlTags. And to answer SF, if you go to File and Page setup you can adjust the width and height of the report, not sure if that's all you're trying to do or not?

Ted,
Correct me if I'm mistaken but even though the report data definition is
there, the table that is generated to print these tags is generated as a
temporary table in the MES thus not really giving you the ability to sort
any of the data when you do attach the table... I've been fighting with
support with this for a few weeks and they finally agree that in fact since
it's temporary and part of MES that there's not effective way of using it.

Thanks,
--John

I apologize John, I just quickly looked at my PartTags Crystal and didn't put much thought to it. I believe you are correct about this because I ended up creating a new PartTags report from scratch and created a new RDD from the MtlTags RDD because I was having issues with modifying the report. I'm not sure about the creation of the temporary table being created, if epicor claims its not possible it probably isn't.

Ted

Ted, thanks for clarifying. Were you able to use this parttag as part of
the end activity or report quantity process in the MES? We're struggling to
get info on the tags that our customers want us to have for internal
traceability...

Yes it works from both of those.

This will work, but have another question. A custom field in the Part table, character02, is desired to display on the Part Tag. We added the Part table and created a relationship from MaterialTag, but all the fields in the Part are blank in Crystal when adding the Part.Character02.

That is the same issue I'm having. I'm trying to pull info from the
laborDtl table into the tag (resource I'D, operatorID) but even with what
seems to be the correct relationship it still send blank fields to the
XML... Any ideas?

I’ve done what others do: Just make a BAQ that gives you the info you want for the Tag..... make a new tag and you can call that BAQ on any form with a custom EpiButton.
