Default Settings

BPMs: For Op related defaults store them in op master records in ud fields (& the bpm when fired sets those values).
We do not do it with materials but if you have a need, likely can be done.

I'm having trouble establishing an ODBC connection to a Progress database. The connection worked fine before moving the database to a new server. The test connection responds with the warning message:

[DataDirect][ODBC Progress OpenEdge Wire Protocol driver] (then some strange ascii characters.

If this is a 64 bit system you have to edit the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe vice the one in the control panel.

I needed to add a line through the Registry Editor –  Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >  ODBC.INI – (the name I gave to my system DSN).

I needed to add a new string value -  Workaround2 – Data value 8192.

Good afternoon, all –

I would like to have certain fields in Engineering Workbench reset, preferably for our division only. I am being told this cannot be done, so I’m checking with the groupmind.

These are the defaults that the user should see:

Operations tab, Quantity Factors: Qty should be checked, not %. (radio button)

Operations tab, Production per Scheduling Block: Should be Minutes per Piece, not Pieces per Hour. (dropdown menu)

Operations tab, Scheduling Factors: Auto Receive into Inventory and Final Operation should both be checked. (check boxes)

Materials tab, Component: Operations default should be 10 rather than 0. (This is a biggie. Comment: we only ever use one operation in our MoMs.) (dropdown menu)

To recap, I’m trying to change default settings on radio buttons, check boxes and dropdown menus.

I am seeing that in the Operations tab, Labor Reporting Resource, a default pops up, which leads me to believe that defaults are possible in dropdown menus.

If the above is possible, can someone direct me to more information on the “how-to”? What, if any, special skills are required?

As always, many thanks! (Even we non-programmers learn a lot from this list!)

Ree

Update:

Still receiving the error above when connecting using the sqlexp tool locally. I was able to connect to a test database on the same server using the sqlexp tool.
