Templates are a good idea. You should also be able to do this with a
Post-Process in a BPM. (Doing it as a preprocess gets overwritten...)

Does anyone know of a simple way to set the default values and settings
for new parts setups in Part Entry?
Thanks,
Ed
Short of making a customization, I usually use the 'Duplicate Part'
function on the Action menu to make a part with most of the fields
preloaded.

Maybe a few "template" parts could cover most of the variations of
default values. Set the template parts to 'Inactive' to keep them from
being used elsewhere, and just un-Inactivate the newly created part.

Ed,

If you have ServiceConnect, then this all becomes very easy. You can
either setup the default values when you load your part data
initially, or you can go back and make mass changes to parts already
in the MPF.

We do both and it works well for us...

I am not sure of another way...

Thanks,

Nick
