Delete incorrect serial numbers

Hello,

I was wondering if it possible to delete incorrect serial numbers.

When they were entering serial numbers on a receipt entry, they mistyped 5 serial numbers and added anyways.

After they were done they realized they were incorrect so just added the correct ones in as new serial numbers.

So now the incorrect serial numbers are in there and will never be used.

Is there a way to scrub them from Epicor?

I foresee this happening in the future and hate to have the serial numbers in there for no reason.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Shawn,

Worst case scenario will be adjusting out inventory and doing an adjust-in with correct serial numbers. Which serialization component modules are you licensed for?

Hi Shawn,

We change the status of the bad serial numbers to Adjusted and in the Reference field toss a note, “SN Error”. There’s no system approach that’ll let us delete the serial number records that have had any serial number transactions (i.e., SNTrans table) against them.
