Deleting after track lots

As long as you have done any transactions against the 67, then you need to use an updatable baq or other query to unset the tracklots flag. Then you can adjust the qty out.

If you are using FIFO vs. LOT FIFO as your costing method then the fifo layers are NOT tied to your lots. They are tied to bins.
You can remove more than a lot holds if the bin has enough on hand and the system moves on to the next lot.

Also, if you use lot fifo costing to get strict lot control, then you can’t set standard costs on a part without a lot number.

for us this was a pain since we set the standard as a buying guideline when a part is first entered, but without quantity on hand in a lot we can’t set standard.

Tim, on the Qty Adj screen it must tell you what the lot number(s) currently are associated with the 87. Those are the numbers to be entered to down-adjust the inventory. Once inventory is at zero, you can remove the lot tracked flag on the Part Maintenance screen. -Karl

Hello All,

We have a part number that we received inventory on (qty 87). We then changed the part number to a "track lots" part number. Now I cannot get rid of the 87. I go to do a QTY-ADJ and it will not let me, error code says "must have lot number". The track lots check box is greyed out, so I cannot uncheck requiring lot tracking to remove. Has anyone run into this?
