Deleting multiple records (Parts)

For small(ish) numbers of deletions, what I do is I put in each number that I want deleted into Part Maintenance sequentially.
- IE type the number, tab, and then overtype with the next number, tab and then the next number until all are entered.
- Then one at a time delete from the final number that was entered.
- After each part is deleted, the previously entered number appears - I delete that, and then the previously number appears...

I know I haven't written this very well - but hopefully you get my drift. I'm not sure how much the Part Maintenance window caches (based on some recent problems I've talked about in here, I suspect it gets very large), but I suspect it'll handle 300 parts.

If 300 is too many to inflict on your staff, you could record/write a macro - using a tool such as Mouse and Key Recorder (kratronic.com). BUT be careful - if you leave the macro too basic, you risk damaging data you don't want too.

Kerry.
Hello!

Does anyone know what is the easiest way we can deleted multiple parts from the part master? We want to delete over 300 parts. Thanks!

-Sal
I assume these parts have no transactions against them?
