Yeah, another story from Epicor 9 land...

In 9 you can indicate that a part is Buy-To-Order or Drop-shipped. When you
enter a sales order for these parts and indicated that they are BTO or
Drop-Shipped, a PO suggestion is generated. You don't use the regular
receiving functions, but you run a Process Drop Ship Entry and the PO is
received AND shipped on the sales order making the line ready for invoicing.

Hello group

Quick question. I have a part that has a zero on hand balance and has
14,000pcs demand, 14,000 available and 13,000 reserved. Where and how is the
reserved quantity determined in vantage? Thank you in advance.

Paul,

We run 8.03.305, but I still don't see a reserved column on our part
tracker. What tab is it on...?

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick

The tab is on warehouse, the columns are in the order of on hand, demand,
available, reserved, unreserved, in transit.

Nick,

Reservations are what used to be called hard allocations on other older systems. In Vantage you do it through the (sales order) Fulfillment WB.

You are essentially linking a sales order requirement (not a job requirement) to specific on-hand inventory so it can't be 'stolen' for use by another order (or job).

You learn something new every day Rob... :o)

I didn't know you could do that, and it sounds potentially useful. I
will have a play around when I get chance and see if it works on our
system.

Thanks for the update...
