Determining key between SNtran and PartTran, or general key look

Since it's a Job Traveler you're trying to modify, couldn't you relate them on JobNum and PartNum?

I'm trying to link tables back up in Crystal Reports...any idea what the key is that links the SNtran and PartTran table? Or are those even the right tables to be linking?

Can I look this kind of thing up myself? It seems like it ought to be easier than it's turning out to be...support seemed to have no clue.

Ideas?
Best advise I can give you is put one of the tables on a BAQ and display
only liked, drag other related tables until you find a relationship. Then
you can almost always remove some of the intermediate tables and still make
a relationship.

I'll try and look for you but can't guarantee it!:)

Not sure what SNTran does but it seems that both part tran and sn trans have
a link to RMADtl, and FSCallDtl, JobAsmbl, DRMHead,

Maybe through one of those? Not sure what you are tryinng to accomplish.

Indeed, what are you actually looking to retrieve?

When a Part Transaction occurs (via Issue Material, etc), there's the option to attach a serial number to that transaction. In my Job Traveler, I want to show that associated Serial Number. Does that make sense?

You could maybe check if PartTran.TranNum matches the SNTran.TranNum

That would be nice, but it doesn't. PartTran.TranNum is way bigger than SNTran.TranNum.

Write a Query that will give you the LAST SN Tran record and last Part Tran
record either through ODBC or some other way

then make a transaction which involves SN,

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Maybe the SNTran table isn't the one I want to join serial numbers to part transactions...but that's where I'm getting confused.

Support is telling me there isn't a link, and to make one would require custom programming. So I suppose I'll start looking at the SerialNo table.

We are on version 8.00.812 still (upgrading to 9.05 this year). In version 8 there is no file called SNtran but there is a file called SerialNo. We link this file to the JobProd file via the job number. Hope this helps.
