Diff our and supplier U/M with serial number

You can't back-flush serialnum or lot controlled inventory - but you can certainly manually issue it.

Ok, I'm trying to use lot tracking.

Is it required always enter lot number in part master file?

If I enter lot number only in receipt entry, I can not issue this lot

materials for job.

Thanks,

Tomas

Hello,

Process:
1.Buying tin rolls(must have serial number)
2. In system converting rolls to square meters
Problem:
Systems converts roll to 10 SM and wants to assign 10 serial numbers, thus we would like to assign SN to rol and in serial number tracker see that this part is from roll with such SN
Is that possible?

Thanks,
Tom

Are you sure that you want to mark your rolls with serial numbers and not
Lot Numbers?

Cheers,

Mark W.
Is your inventory unit of measure on the tin SM and your purchase unit
of measure RL? When you receive it you would receive it in the supplier
unit of measure and your unit of measure. You should be using a LOT
number which would allow you to track the material rather than a serial
number which would track individual units.

You can use the lot number in the same way as the serial number and
would be much easier to use in your business process.
