Difference between SQL and SQL Unicode

Unicode has larger database sizes. Unicode requires more room to support multi-language because of the method it stores its characters.

Normal ASCII is fine for most installs.

Here is a great article that I read a while back and kept in my favorites:
http://www.informit.com/guides/content.aspx?g=sqlserver&seqNum=275

It explains it all.

Is there a down-side to selecting Unicode if, like in our case, we only
need to support US English?

I think the best way to describe it would be that it uses the Unicode
character
set for all the information in the database versus a standard ASCII
character
set, which allows for a wider range of languages to be kept in the DB
natively.

Long Story short, unless you require Chinese or other "complicated"
characters
in your DB then there is no need to install the Unicode version.

Hi,

Good morning, Will you please tell me what is the difference between SQL
and SQL

As I found during Installation of Epicor 9.04 there are three options,
among
that one is Installation of Sql for Windows and the another is Sql
Unicode for
Windows.

Thank you & Regards,
