How can I change from the digest version to the receipt of each individual
email at the time it is sent? In the past I was able to go to
www.onelist.com to make the change.

Thank you,

People have been complaining about this that rarely even use Office products
(Word, if at all). They keep blaming Norton AntiVirus. I have had my
doubts about NAV, but never thought that I should be looking at Vantage. My
own machine slows way the heck down - I was thinking of ways to try to
finagle a nice new Pentium 4...

I initially questioned NAV myself, but disabled it on our Accountant's
machine long enough to find out that it was not the problem. I still suspect
some kind of issue with 5.1, and not releasing RAM properly. We jumped from
3.0 to 5.1, so I can't say for certain that the problem started with 5.1. We
didn't have this issue with 3.0. In fact, we had no issues with 3.0. So much
for progress. No pun intended. I second the P4. I just bought two for a
couple of our users, and time to Vantage Logon screen is just under 5
seconds.

Don't get too excited about a P4. One of the users who complains about
things slowing down in the afternoon has a Dell P4 1.8Ghz. They reboot
around 3 p.m. to shake the lag time. I think they have 256MB of RAM. This
mysterious problem doesn't seem to be prejudiced by processor speed.

Thanks Troy. That's one more thing to rule out, and it still seems to be
pointing in the direction of RAM... Les

I recently purchased a Zebra 105Se, and now face the prospect of
having to recreate all our Customer barcode labels. The labels were
all created in software that comes with the Sato Lable printers. Most
of these labels require user prompts. I'm not an expert at barcoding,
and was hoping that somebody could tell me if it's possible to create
labels (with user prompts) that would be compatible with most label
printers? I wouldn't want to do this again, if we decide that we
didn't like the Zebras.

We have Zebra's Z4M. We will be generating our barcodes out of Vantage.
We've commissioned some mild programing to allow a Report Builder Report to
be run from a button click without any further user interaction. We are
converting over from Wasp Labeler. So far testing shows that this will work
quite nicely. For those interested in the programing should contact Rick
Lane off list. I've already found a bunch of uses for Report builder
reports from a VB button. I'll also share my report builder report that I
use for generating the the AIAG lables. My plan is to have a button for the
generic standard barcode and add buttons for those customers that want a
particular format. This would be done from the shipping detail VB. So far
I'm able to pull what ever data I need with special fields for special data
with some careful report building.

Subject: Stock Status Report Needed

I'm looking for either a Crystal or RB report similar to Vantage's Stock
Status report. The catch is I need it to be able to look at prior cutoff
dates (5/31/02 for example), not just the current On Hand Quantity. (The
ones in yahoo do not have this ability).

Currently, for analysis purposes, we export it to Excel, add some other
data and then spend a whole lot of time formatting, adding formulas,
deleting unnecessary columns, etc. My goal is to add a VB form or two in
Vantage and then have Crystal or RB do all the work that we are now
doing in Excel.

Any and all help is appreciated!!

Hi Shirley,
Are you recreating all of your Wasp Labels for the Zebra, or have you found
a way to convert them into the correct format?

Sounds like a nearly new PC, so it's probably running Win 2000 or XP,
no? Have you checked in the Task Manager to see if there's any indication
of a program hogging memory, or an overall shortage of memory?

We too are using the Z4M with Report Builder and it has been great (after a
few startup driver issues). A seperate RB for each customer's label format
so had to create a sub-menu just for labels. Selections (job, order,
etc...) made via regular filters and any that require non-system data are
also passed via filter (parsing the filter string). After the first few
"flavors" were made all the rest were similar to an existing one so new
formats only take about 20 minutes. I don't think it would be possible to
export something from WASP that would fit into RB but designing labels in RB
is pretty easy.

Thanks Todd,
RB really sounds like the way to go. I'm going to have to use VB fields like
Shirley, but that will be a one time shot. I'm just trying to avoid possibly
having to recreate them all again the future.

What I've done is looked at everything done in Zebra. I found that 80% were
a standard format, so I created the standard format and will run samples
for customer approval before we switch over. There's going to have to be
some discipline added to the shipping department because they aren't going
to be able to slop the data around like they've been able to do in the past.
This won't be an instant transition and it won't be necessarily easy.
"Cultural Resistance" is going to rear its ugly head. For those customers
that require "Special" I'll have to do another RB format. I'm going to try
and keep it to 2 buttons, one for the "Standard" and an elegant way for each
customer to get their special.

Hi Shirley,
Are you recreating all of your Wasp Labels for the Zebra, or have you
found
a way to convert them into the correct format?

OK, Now you made my day. "Cultural Resistance" is an understatement here.
Changing the color of the Shipping Department's desktop, is enough to bring
things to a screeching halt... : ) Les

You need to go into the header of each invoice, choose salespersons and
then enter each sales rep that will get a commission for that invoice. Then
go into each line of the invoice, go to commissions and enter the correct
%'s for each rep's split and rate. You can actually do this from order
entry or A/R invoicing

What trouble are you running into specifically? The order entry screen
allows you to enter multiple sales persons with their own commission rates,
and the canned report in the system handles them ok. The way the data is
stored makes it a real p.i.t.a. to write your own reports, though.

Hello,

I am trying to implement global Alerts, for when orders are shipped. We
have never used alerts before but we are restructuring our parts dept.
Which now this feature would be useful.

This is what I did. I went to global alerts, changed to send alerts and
memo. I added a to: (dhieber@...). And exited.
Which to me this was straight forward. But when the shipping dept.
shipped are part, I did not receive the email.

has anyone successfully set up global alerts. Am I missing something.

BTW - I am using Netscape.

Sandra,
What you need to do is to do a search for *.PST this is the file that
holds all of Outlooks, tasks, mail, calander, etc etc. What I've done is
set up a secure directory for each user on the server. Then I've mapped the
outlook path to that *.pst file. This way if a system crashes all of a
user's outlook stuff is intact.
