Direction to compare dates

For some reason solving other people's problems (when answers occur to me) is more fun than tackling the seemingly-insoluble ones I have. :-)

Its sort of like cleaning someone else's house -- much more fun than mucking about with my old stuff.

Brian,

Thanks for the quick response on this. I think sometimes I try to get to creative and forget the easier ones. This works well and should give me what we need. Thanks again.

I am looking for some guidence. Might need some good detail rather then a general approach. This might be a little beyond my skills.

I want to compare the orderhed.orderdate to the orderrel.needbydate. I only want to pull those that differ less then 5 weeks.

I was going to start off with a BAQ/Dashboard. Long term would probably want an email from a BPM. Don't really care which way at this point. Just not sure what I need to do to make the comparison.

Ideas are greatly appreciated.

Jeff
You'll probably need to use a calculated field in your BAQ to do the date arithmetic.

I did a calculated field whose expression was:

OrderRel.NeedByDate - OrderHed.OrderDate

And set the datatype to integer

It returns the number of days between them. You can then filter in the dashboard for those that are < 35.

I was going to start off with a BAQ/Dashboard. Long term would probably want an email from a BPM. Don't really care which way at this point. Just not sure what I need to do to make the comparison.
