Display only permission to external consultant

Hi Epicor Community,

I’m relatively new to Epicor Kinetic Cloud and currently reviewing our security setup. I noticed that in our environment we don’t seem to have any “display-only” roles .

In my previous experience with SAP, we had dedicated roles designed specifically for display or audit purposes , allowing external consultants or auditors to view data without the ability to modify anything.

In Epicor, I’m trying to figure out the best approach for a similar scenario. For example, how do you typically provide external consultants with access to review data in the system without granting transactional permissions?

A few questions for the community:

  • Do you create display-only security roles in Epicor?
  • What is the recommended way to configure these roles?
  • Are there any best practices for organizations with limited Epicor security expertise ?
  • Do you rely on menu security, read-only dashboards/BAQs, or other approaches ?

Any guidance or examples of how your organization handles this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

It can be done with security groups. There are a lot of modules to set read-only for the group.

Haso has a BPM for an auditor role that’s less “clutter” in Epicor.
