Disruptive BAQ Grid Parameter Issue

Parameters panel just keeps opening itself, infrequently, about every 30 secs. The first time you focus a BAQ grid the panel does open as intended for you to input dates, but every 30s a new one opens on top of another, and another, etc. If you interact with these panels at all, OK, cancel, or close them, it clears all the rows off your grid, requiring you to refresh and put your parameters back in again. This started happening when we got to 2024.1

Since filtering date columns doesn’t work in a range, as far as I know, we’re depending on these parameter-enabled BAQ grids. Wondering if anyone else has faced this frustrating behavior as support was not able to help.

Test this one a different form and see if it will work for you. If so, you can bag your parameters if that’s all you’re using them for.

You CAN filter by a range of dates. Turn on your filters, click on the funnel icon and change your filter type to “Between”. This creates (2) date filters in the filter row and you can select a beginning and end date.

I actually didn’t know that but I think that’s the ticket. People here were so fed up with date columns that I had to create an end all solution by resorting to parameters, and we’ve been avoiding column filters ever since.

As for the actual issue I have no idea how to stab at it anymore. It appears to be a problem with our local application install and nothing else.

Thank you.

Yeah, chasing down when your grid is refreshing and causing a new parameter request sounded like a pain to track down. I know I’ve seen posts on here about the parameter slide outs if you still want to review those…

This one for example, mentions (although they ultimately go a different route), bagging the Parameter slide out all together and adding new controls in a new panel so they’re always visible and you can change them at will. Interesting thought.

I’ve also had a lot of issues lately where refreshing my dashboard grids wipes them out completely and I have to refresh the whole dashboard and start over. I don’t know if that’s a bug or what, but I haven’t been able to figure it out.

Good luck. Hopefully using the grid filters this way will be an “easy button” for you.
