If you purchase Service Connect, be aware that there is a VERY high learning curve to this software. XML experience is very helpful. The documentation and training falls far short from sufficient for this product. There are so many things that can go wrong. Documentation for reading the traces that are necessary to identify the methods to use is non-existent. There is no documentation available for error codes. On multiple occasions I was told by support that they don't support mappings which is a key part of Service Connect.

So when you purchase this, plan on spending a LOT of labor dollars in getting it to work or a lot of consulting dollars so that someone else can get it to work.

We maybe purchasing Service Connect as part of another project. I will
keep this on the backburner until then. For now, thanks for the heads
up.

Were having the same quandary here Bruce, however failed at inspection
could mean one of two possibilities afterwards, rework or scrap? A BPM
however wont be able to create the new record sets you'll need to
process or disposition through the DMR area. I identified a service
connect workflow called from a BPM as the best solution to automate
that. The BPM was the easy part as it works with a simple customization
that the inspector uses to auto process the DMR (canned choices). I
haven't gotten anywhere but a rough start with the work flow due to
priority changes... But in short, a BPM isn't going to do it for you in
DMR.

We are not using the Quality Module to the extent it was designed. Once
our Quality manager determines a material as failed through the
inspection, that is the end of the trail. To answer the DMR is simply
redundant for us. I am seeking some direction for writing a BPM to
auto-fail DMRs.
