While it has been discussed over the years, the old “Special Characters” in the DMT issue presented itself again for us on BOOs.
- After a lot of testing, we found that if the Excel .csv file Comment Fields have a CR in them properly as when you enter a string in Excel and hit ALT+ENTER, these WILL pass through the DMT properly.
- Several attempts later, we found that if we format our data into the Excel Sheet using ISO-8859 Encoding instead of UTF-8 etc., the DMT WILL pass the special characters for Diameter and Degrees, which our Operations rely on in the comments heavily.
I hope this helps someone struggling with the DMT into Cloud Kinetic and wanting to pass these characters in, it is possible using ISO-8859 Encoding and works.
