DMT to JobMtl - can't update data on MRP jobs

I need to modify JobMtl.ReqDate to push our material dates earlier. I want to do this right after MRP is ran, modify the dates on the new MRP jobs, then run Generate Suggestions to get the POs to suggest at these new dates.

I’m testing this process with a DMT - but I’m getting an error:

Firming these jobs just to modify dates really isn’t an option. I’ve went into Company Configuration > Modules > Production > Change Engineered Jobs > Prevent Changes and cleared this setting, but I still can’t modify the field.

Hi Steven,

There is a process that you might want to look at to use to autofirm. However, you noted you wanted to do the date change to “push material dates earlier”. Have you considered using Kit time or something like that to automatically have Epicor require the parts in advance of job start date?

If you’re just using DMT to test… you could:

  • Run a DMT against JobHead setting JobFirm = True
  • Then run your Job Material DMT.
  • If needed, you can run your JobHead DMT again setting JobFirm back False.
  • Run Generate Suggestions and see if your new/updated dates take effect in the suggestions.

I know its not ideal, but, again, if this is only for testing, that’s what I would try.

You can’t update unfirm jobs, as Nancy alluded to. If you agree this is a frustrating and needless limitation, please VOTE to fix it. Epicor Kinetic Ideas
