Sandy -
Save yourself the typing ! You don't need the http:// just enter the
website
www.urlthatyouwant.com
You also need to specify where the iexplore.exe is found on the pc when you
created the document association from the System Management menu. To make
things
simple, I put a copy of the program at the root of the C drive on each pc.
This
way I don't worry if XP is different from 2000 or 98. Each OS puts the file
in
a different directory - by putting a copy on the root of the C drive I
remove
that problem!
Here is my view command (character for character):
c:\iexplore.exe &1
If you use the iexplore.exe for xls, doc, txt, log, pdf, and com
(websites) - you
only have to reference 1 program for all document types. You still need to
set
up the association for each but that's easier than 6 different executables.

Calvin

Shirley & Calvin,
I am missing something because I tried to get the .com to work and
nothing happens when I click view. I am setting up com in "Document
Association" with the path to iexplore.exe followed by &1. Then in a
test part number revision I am putting in
http://www.urlthatIwanttouse.com It associates to the com record but
nothing happens when I click view.
Thanks!
