Getting this error when trying to create a new document type on a cloud version of 10.2.600.9 in Document Type Maintenance. Anyone else getting this? Are there special permissions on the cloud that are required? I noticed in Company maintenance the attachment tag is missing
Epicor migrated File System for us but it did not migrate Attachment Link for us. Any existing DocType’s will still show Attachment Link but if you try to create a new one the option will be missing.
You must go to Attachment Type Maintenance and create a new entry for Link (its also called Link now). Then you can go to Document Type Maintenance and select the Attachment Link option again.
It looks like existing records are still working, despite Link missing and not being enabled. That is because the drop-down values are hardcoded in ZDataField
To be safe, make sure you add all the types you are using and enable them, or one day they will just stop working if Epicor adds WHERE Enabled = 1 clause.
Correct, this was our fault The link type is sort of the default type for Erp attachments throughout history and was just a checkbox. A lot of effort went in when we migrated those fields off of Company Maintenance into their own table and UI but that one got missed in the migration logic and QA did not catch it.
The good news is that as Haso says nothing is broken except the system needing to know it is there - enabling it. This is fixed in ERPS-139606 in our tracking system, PRB0223760 in our support system. The fix is in 10.2.700. But if you upgrade to 10.2.600 this may catch you by surprise. I do apologize that we missed it.
