Does anybody know how to get the new plus sign back on order entry?

I didn’t remove it, but somehow its missing. It’s there on the landing page but gone once you open a sales order. It’s there in base but its not listed as a tool anywhere I can find so I am not sure how to recreate it (can’t see the right settings). Any idea how to get it back?

Do you have a layer on SO Entry?

Yep

Is it hiding in the overflow menu or missing completely?

Missing completely

Pretty sure the “New” tool needs to be added in the OrderHed DataView in app studio. There was a post on here somewhere about that.

Not the exact issue, but may help recreate it.

Sounds like that only works for UD screens unfortunately. Does anybody know why that tool doesn’t seem to exist, even in base? Like I can see toolSave, toolRefresh, etc etc. But toolNew just isn’t there?

Don’t know if it might be any of these, but maybe check these row rules. :man_shrugging:

I don’t know WHY the “new” tool is linked in through the DataView and not the page Actions like all the others. But if I open OrderEntry base in AppStudio, that’s where I see the “New” Tool:

Is it visible there for you?

Same with OrderDtl, OrderRel, OrderMsc, even InvcHead (although set to hidden) dataviews. That “tool” is on the DataView, not on the page Actions. Can’t explain why. Same in 2023.2.

A Personalization perhaps?

Interesting! I do see the tool there in OrderHed. And its not marked hidden. Any idea how it may be getting hidden? btw its hidden for everyone, its not a personalization issue.

Take a working empty layer from another system, import it and then do a merge… Just a thought, not sure if that will fix it…

other alternative is delete the broken layer and recreate it.

Good idea!

Maybe it’s opposite day. Try marking it hidden and see what happens. :man_shrugging:

I did actually try that - that makes it disappear on the landing page too

For what it’s worth, we had the same thing happen recently, I could not figure out how to get it back. The only clue I found was what @dcamlin pointed out…the tool on the dataview.

I had not seen that before, it appears it’s a place to add a tool that appears on multiple pages in one application (e.g. New order, New line, New release)

Regardless, I had to go back to my previous layer and recreate it (which was quite a bit in my case)…so far it has not come back.

I’ve only seen this in our Pilot (test) environment which is at 2024.1.8

Curious if you tried to report it to support? Seems like a bug if it has happened to multiple people? I’m not keen on spending another 8 hours rebuilding this. Another thing I noticed, all my commit history vanished. I thought the commits were finally working now in 2024.1 but apparently not. There were there for a at least a few days, because I had successfully back tracked to an earlier draft at several points. But now they are 100% gone.

I did not report it because we had consultants working on that layer (which shouldn’t have happened but…) and they were messing with buttons up there, so I thought it was related, but now that I’ve seen your post, I’m thinking not.

The commit history thing…I’ve not watched closely since 2024.1.8 but what I have noticed which really annoys me is if I copy a layer it doesn’t bring along the commit history…not sure if that’s what your are seeing

That is also annoying (that you can’t export/import the history) BUT that is not what I am seeing. In the very environment where the development was completed, the commit history has disappeared.

I have not seen that (yet), but will keep my eyes open for it…I’m on 2024.1.8
