Does Job to Salvage for an asssembly created from DMR reduce original job materials?

My question is the same as my title. - I have this scenario… I am processing an assembly order in my assembly department. A nearly completed assembly thread galls up and I have to cut it open to remove internal components (salvage the parts). I nonconform and DMR the Assembly part - not the components. I need to cut it open so I create a job with a dummy part number that will retrieve all the components and allow them to be returned to inventory. I retrieve the parts after the rework, and receive each component through job receipt to salvage.

When I sent the assembly to DMR, did Kinetic (Previously EPICOR) remove the assembly components from the job also? When I receive them back into inventory, does Kinetic know where they are from?

My assumption is no, because I use lot control and I may have multiple component lots on an assembly order and I am not nonconforming a specific lot number of each component. Looking only for some clarity so I know what to expect when I get into the test environment with this. Should I bother with it?

My understanding is job receipt to salvage puts the parts directly in stock, the caveat is, the value of the salvaged parts cannot be more than the value of the parts issued
