Does Print & Label Control in E7 exist in E10?

With our current E7 system we utilize Print & Label Control quite often to design what loftware labels are tied to user stations id’s and a printer #. Does something like this exist in E10? Currently I have setup a few auto print BPMS but i learned you can only designate one printer for a BPM. I have heard of the break/routing concept that’s new and maybe that my be similar to label control in E7?

I never worked with E7 so I’m familiar with Print & Label Control.

In E8- through E10, the setup in a nut shell is:

  • Report Data Definitions (RDD) to control what data a report pulls from
    the database.
  • Report Style to tie the RDD to a particular report (Crystal Reports or
SSRS or file dump) then the report engine takes over.

We use file dump and Bartender to print labels. Each computer printing
labels gets assigned a Workstation in Epicor that is tied to a label
printer. So our BPMs are written to check the users’ workstation to get
the printer from that.

Where are workstations assigned in Epicor and how are they tied to labels? And could you provide an example of your BPM? Is the BPM something I can achieve with the current methods or is it custom code? If so could you provide an example please. Thanks,

Workstation maintenance is a module in Epicor you assign printers to
workstations not labels. Could be a HP Laserjet or a Zebra 4x6 thermal
printer. I didn’t write the label BPMs but in E10 there are many tools to
avoid writing a bunch of C# code.

You’re want to take classes on E10 as there have been big jump from where I
started back in the E8 days.

Thanks, Ill look into the workstation maintenance

You didn’t work with E7 because one didn’t exist. Epicor went from Vantage 6 to Epicor 8.
Tyler, check to see if you’re running Epicor 7 or Epicor’s Enterprise 7 product. I’m going to guess Enterprise 7. If so, it’s a totally different product.
