Don't have an answer -- RE: Quick Search error

Good Day Tanya:

I am not sure I understand but if it is an empty database, then
it would not find any records, or all the fields are Null.

Another thought: With Logic fields (Y\N), I never know if the
filter is Y or YES or T or True, F, etc. Any chance you just have the
wrong parameter? Although you said you tried "ALL". I am not that
familiar with Logic fields, but "ALL" would not be an allowable value???
- no record would have "ALL" in a field; but There could be programming
that would make "ALL" allowable - I just do not know enough.

Thanks for the ideas, Len. However, I see this in an empty database as
well.

The error says:

Failed to enable constraints. One or more rows contain values violating
non-null, unique, or foreign-key constraints.

Which is particularly odd, getting this with the empty database.

Good Day Tanya:

Your screen shots did not come through, so you will need to type in the
error.

Some wild guesses:

1. "All" results in too many records so it locks up. Use another filter
( date range?) to limit it somehow to a few records.
2. Maybe you need an outer join - if a child table does not have the
record, and you filter on a field in the child table, it might act odd.
3. Are any of the tables aggregated ( SUM shows in the file box on the
first screen).
4. Are some of the records Null in a Yes\no field - I think it should
still work, but nulls are always a potential problem.

Subject: [Vantage] Quick Search error

I had developed a quick search based on the zOrderLines quick search.
Part
of this was adding two yes/no/all fields. The two new fields worked
great for a few days. But yesterday after no changes, I suddenly got
this error. Today I found that some users reported seeing the same
error, but other users had no problems in the same database.

If I remove the yes/no/all criteria from the quick search, they work
fine.
If the user selects a value instead of All, they work fine. I can run
Analyze in the BAQ with no criteria and the results come back with no
errors.

The two yes/no/all fields are set up with value lists like so:
