E-mailing screen shots from within Epicor

Thanks to all for your input on the print screen and screen capture options. There are several options for us to choose from.

We did figure out how to set up the e-mail direct from inside of Epicor option also (way to go, Jill), so I wanted to share that result.

Exit Epicor, setup the SMTP line in your client config file for your mail server name, go into an Epicor program like order tracker, choose the File/Send To/Record by E-mail option and when you get the resulting email, associate the shortcut result to open with the Epicor client.

It still leaves some opportunities for the better screen captures and print screen add-ins, but it does work.

thanks again.

I would like to be able to e-mail a screen shot of say a sales order in order entry to others within our company.

I swear they showed us this many moons ago in the sales demo prior to going live.

I went to the File drop down menu and I see the Send To option, but it doesn't seem to do much. I get the e-mail box like it is going to do something, but doesn't.

IT has tried setting up the E-mail system settings and this didn't seem to do the trick either.

I also tried to do the File/Send To/Record to file option and all I get is a client properties text dump.

We currently are capturing the screen shot with the print screen keyboard function and then pasting into a word document then e-mailing it off.

Is this direct e-mail option possible?
Never seen it. ALT-PRINT-SCREEN is what we use in life daily.

Not sure if my other email went through so I apologize if this is a
repeat.

Get PrintKey (I think it is a free download), setup a hotkey, and then
you can paste the screen shots in your email.

But play with it....it has been a long time since I have do this...

I second the recommendation on print key..for a free app it really is flexible and easy to use.. I also like that with one hot key I can also do a box capture rather than have to drag along everything on the screen that may or may not be relevant

We just use Alt-Print Screen and paste it directly into our Outlook email.

We use a program called PrintScreen from Gadwin Systems. It works very well to print a screen shot directly to a printer, the clipboard or to a file which in turn can automatically email it.
