We are in the testing phase of E10 and there must be something I am missing. I started trying to find the problem in data brought in through service connect but am getting the same result when entering the BOM manually.
I have an assembly made up of 2 subassemblies. Each subassembly has a single raw material. The raw material is set as stock and purchased. The subassemblies are set as non-stock and manufactured.
When I created the BOM in engineering workbench, the Pull as Assembly flag was checked for both subassemblies as expected.
When I do Get Details within a job, the Make Direct checkbox for the subassemblies is not checked. Because of this when I tried running a mass issue, it was trying to pull the assemblies instead of the raw material.
The Make Direct field help says: "If the part exists in the part master file and the Non-Stock Item check box is selected on the part record, the Make Direct check box will be automatically selected. This indicates that this part is not normally stocked."
Hi
The make direct checkbox will only be auto checked as you describe if your subassemblies are set as ‘Plan as assembly’ when you create the bom. But since you mention they get marked as pull as assembly when creating the bom then the make direct check box will not get checked.
As far as the mass issue goes, when you select your first assembly from the grid and then you press the issue button, the next screen it takes you to will show the sub assembly and raw material but if you press the “issue all†button, you should see that it will only try to issues the raw material of sub assembly 1. But if you do choose to issue the whole assembly you can do that too but that’s not the default of what the issue does when there’s raw materials.

Thanks Jose,
I got hung up on the make direct checkbox due to some other problems with the data coming from service connect. Everything seems to be working as you described.
