E10: Configurator - Method Rule "Set Part Defaults"

If you are pulling the details in to the job from a quote that already has details and those details are correct then the configurator is pretty much out of the picture.

I'd be inclined to agree that this may be a bug in the process of getting details from a quote.  As an experiment build a quote MOM manually with no configurator involved and see if you get the same results.  If you do time to call Epicor support.

Hello,

When doing a get details from Quote Entry for a configured part, I am only setting two fields for the quote material. PartNum and QtyPer.
I then call the rule function “Set Part Defaults”.
I don’t know if it should be but this function is not triggering a recalc for the required quantity.

For example, my QtyPer is 12 so I should see QuoteMtl.RequiredQty equal to 12 but its set to 1.

If I configure from the sales order and then create a job, that “Get Details” calculates the JobMtl.RequiredQty correctly.
The problem is that if I then pull the details from the quote into a job, the job also has an incorrect RequiredQty because it’s coping it from the quote.

I’m thinking it might be a bug with the Get Details in Quote entry but I wanted to check first to see if I’m missing a step.

Hi Scott,

I just tried that out and the same thing happened.
Qty Per is correct (10) but RequiredQty is 1.

Joe,

Try it in this order

1. Set Part number

2. Set Defaults

3. Set Qty/Parent

I believe you are overwriting the Qty/Parent by doing setting default after setting the field.

Scott
