E10 Import/Export Solution Definition

Hello,

Is there such a way we can export out Solution Definition in E10 like used to be in E9? if not, is there a work around in the backend?

I acutally want to export out the solution definition not to build the solution.

Oh I see, yeah I’m not sure, I certainly don’t see that in E10

The verbs you want are “build” and “install.” Build Solution, from the Actions menu, allows you to prompt for CAB file name and location. This is how you can get your built solution into a CAB file. Then to install from a CAB file, choose Actions -> Install Solution. Try these; I think they will suit your needs.

I was told it is no longer possible to export the solution definition in e10. When I asked epicor why the feature is not available, I was told it is no longer possible because it contains guids that are database specific. It would be a great feature to have as I really liked being able to store my customization definitions in the dB. Losing the definitions really hampers it’s power.

I agree. I got the same response from support. I did ask if Development would consider adding this as enhancement.

Yes I agree this is big pain. Particularly when you want to quick high level as what has been applied.

Please please bring it back

Although I am a bit confused on 10.1.600.25 shows a Delete Installed Solutions menu item in Actions so surely the infrormation is there.
