E10 Memo field conversion question

Hi All,

We are converting from v9.05.606 (progress) to v10.0 (via an intermediary v9.05.702A server).

All data seemed to convert well until we noticed that memo fields in some Crystal reports we are converting are no longer formatted as we intended.

Inspecting both systems:

In Epicor 9 (embedded <CR><LF> give structure to the field when printed):

      <LineDesc>316/L 28G 020 ON 045 6

316 (L OK)

28G (.0135/.0165")

1.984"W X 4.938"L

.020" ON .045" STAGG C/C = 20% OPEN AREA

MARGINS PER DRAWING 343485 REV 1  PART NUMBER 343485

QUOTED LESS ROLLING AND ELECTROPOLISH

****WE OFFER 28GA MAX THICKNESS FOR OUR TOOLING SAME AS LAST ORDER****</LineDesc>

In Epicor 10 (one long string seemingly stripped of all non-printing characters):

<LineDesc>316/L 28G 020 ON 045 6        316 (L OK)28G (.0135/.0165")1.984"W X 4.938"L.020" ON .045" STAGG C/C = 20% OPEN AREAMARGINS PER DRAWING 343485 REV 1  PART NUMBER 343485QUOTED LESS ROLLING AND ELECTROPOLISH****WE OFFER 28GA MAX THICKNESS FOR OUR TOOLING SAME AS LAST ORDER****</LineDesc>

These examples were gathered using the E9 and E10 ICE BL tools looking at the Quote object.

This issue to me has nothing to do with Crystal in Epicor 10 – how can it format end-of-line characters which aren’t there in the raw data?

Has someone run into this already ?

Thank you in advance for any advice,

Dave Beberman
