E9 507A Patch and Fulfillment Workbench

Did you find that it also doesn't work on your end too?

We deal with flooring material that sometimes has a dye lot, which we
store as the batch number for lot tracked parts. The dye lot represents
the batch of the dye used to color the material. Because dye lot
coloring can be slightly off from lot to lot it is important for us to
be able to select lots that have the same dye lot number so that all of
the colors match exactly. In order to handle this, we need to allocate
material one sales order release at a time. As you can imagine, this
would be an extremely time consuming task. To address that, we had a
customization made that adds an Allocation tab to the Sales Order
Release tab, this tab shows all lots on hand and all we have to do is
tick a checkbox for the lot of material that we want and the
customization does the hard allocation for us.

We have the same thing on the Job Entry screen under Job Materials.

Because our parts are lot tracked, we do not backflush.

I see. I just tested Allocation by Lot/Bin. But why taking the time to
allocate each individual line if when you can allocate by Part and all
records at once? That way you can let the software create hard
allocations for all the lines of the sales order.

In the job fulfillment... I know it wont work if you use backflush... DO
you use backflush?

Has anyone taken the plunge into the 507 and 507A patch that uses the
Fulfillment Workbench?

It seems to be broken...

This is bad for us...really bad...

Broken how? I am currently testing 507A because supposedly a lot of our isues regarding the Fulfillment WB will be resolved in 507A. I havent foun anything unusual. Do you have any specific examples?

In short...the Allocate by Lot/Bin just doesn't work.

For example, we try to allocate material to a Sale Order release by
doing an Allocate by Lot/Bin and everything seems to go fine, no errors,
but there is no allocation record made.

If I do the process again it's like it never took place.

Also, if a try to allocate material to a Job Material, it tells me that
I need to select a demand record even though the job material is clearly
selected.

Tech support said that they identified this as a bug around 1/3. I'm
anxiously waiting for a response because we allocate EVERY sales order
and job material.

Like I said...this is bad for us...really bad...
