This group has been absolutley awesome and I have learned so much by reading other's questions and being brave enough to ask mine.
I am trying to bind a comment field to a customization. I was told that I could see if that field that I want to use (character01) for the comment field has been used already by either checking the extended properties or by a querying the table that I will be assigning to.
Now, once I find out what that means and figure out how, I can do that...
When you create a query you need to display the Character01 field.
Example:
Insert the Part Table into the query and add your filters if needed.
Then on the display tab, click on the GRID with a Person on it. Add the Character01 and you will see your data.
