E9: Edit quote after if is won

Thanks Linda.

It's weird because we can uncheck the box when the quote is closed,
although we cannot save it but once we open the quote it is greyed out
on both the summary and the header.

Hi Virginia,

I got more details from my users after I posted this email.

We can reopen a won quote but we cannot uncheck the "Quoted" checkbox.

Not being able to do this, prevents us from unchecking the "Engineered"
checkbox on the lines, which stops us from going into the configurator
for a configured line.

It seems that most every other field can be updated except the
"Engineered" checkbox. We can change the template checkbox, which I
thought was the problem.

Because we do not have an actual engineering department or a need to
check the line as engineered, we are going to remove this checkbox from
the screen, which should "fix" our problem.

We are on version 8.03.408 and we do not need to mark our quote lines as
templates in order to pull the mfg. details into the job. We create the
sales order lines using New Line from Quote in Order Entry.

Most our quotes are for configured items with mfg. details and none of
our quotes are marked as templates and the details pull into the job
fine. Maybe a bug in E9?

As far as openeing a won quote, we have never has a problem by simply
going to Quote entry, Actions, Quote, Reopen Quote. (The quote is still
indicated as won.) We make necessary changes then select Actions, Quote,
Close quote. No problems. E9 will not allow you to simply reopen the
quote? Maybe another reason we are in no hurry to upgrade...

Good Day Joe:

As a work around, can you copy the quote, mark it Template, and then
use it?

I thought any quote could be copied? The Template designation was
just a way to limit the number of returns if a search is done for
quotes; but I am not sure, and I am on E9.05.601B.
