E9-Question - BOM (PARTMTL) vs. WO detail (JOBMTL)

Good Day:

In migrating to E9 from Manage-2000, we are thinking of changing
where we store our 'Historical' copy of the machines BOM.

We build large machines ( 200-1500 components) and since each is
significantly different we must have a copy of the BOM for each one in
order to service them in the field.

In M2K, for each machine we created a BOM and used it as history
since the Work-Order (Job) material list was summarized and made it
impossible to "Read' the list of material.

In E9, we will not create the BOM in PARTMTL, but in JOBMTL. So the
history will be in JOBMTL not PARTMTL

Questions:

1. Since we do a LOT of BOM manipulation, are the tools for that as good
in JOBMTL create\maintenance as they are in PARTMTL; that is, is it
easier to manipulate in one over the other. It appears to be the same, I
just want to double check, since we have just barely started using it.
What about things like : Where-Used, Copy\Paste, Report against,
able to link to other files for complex reports, etc.

2. Does a very large ( 1,000 records) multi-level BOM represent a
problem in any way in JOBMTL vs. PARTMTL
