Edge Agent Won't Open Classic Form

I am using Kinetic in the browser. I am using Microsoft Edge. Kinetic 2024.2.12

We have a few forms that still open in classic mode. Mostly things like BAQ reports or custom dashboards. I just setup Kinetic in the browser for a user and installed the edge agent. When I click on a BAQ report, it says “hold on while we open the classic form.” Then it never does anything else. No crash or warning. Is there something I missed when setting this up? I reinstalled the edge agent twice to make sure I got the settings right. I choose the default config, and kinetic EXE, and pasted the server as instructed. Anyone else have this issue?

Have you launched the smart client before doing the edge agent install? It needs to finish downloading the entire folder before it will work.

Initially I only had the kinetic browser version. I installed the edge agent, and it didn’t open the smart client. So I reinstalled the smart client. After that I went back and reinstalled the edge agent.

What do you mean? Not your sysconfig?

I navigated to the location described in the installer, something like this: C:\Epicor\ERPDT\XXXXX-LIVE\Client\config\default.sysconfig

Got any more in that folder? Which one is in the client shortcut?

Yes, I also see saasXXX.sysconfig and default.sysconfig.template. It looks like my client shortcut uses the saasXXX.sysconfig.

Some Ad Blockers in the browser can also prevent the Edge Agent from working correctly. This is probably not your issue, Just a PSA.

Once I have installed Edge Agent, do I have to uninstall it, and reinstall with the correct settings? Or is there a way to change the sysconfig file in the edge agent after its installed?

I don’t see a way you can modify it but you don’t need to uninstall it in order to reinstall it, it will overwrite the current one when you install it again.
