EDI before starting EDI - Possible Third-Party Solution [8.03.40

Hi Doug,

Sorry for the long delay, I missed this when it came through. We had to start doing business with a big customer but didn't have EDI working in Vantage. I went to CovalentWorks.com and they set me up quickly and easily. And they're cheap! I can't say enough nice things about them.
They provide a web interface where you can see your incoming orders, send Advance Ship Notices (ASN)'s and invoices. You just manually enter the data from the screen into Vantage for the orders, the ASN's and Invoices are created from the data already on the website. You just add tracking numbers and a few other bits.

If your transaction volume is going to be too high to do manual entry, you'll need to look at a different solution. For small volumes, covelantworks.com has to be the most cost-effective thing possible.

Hope that helps.
Kurt

We have a client that is requiring EDI; however we do not have the EDI module. I am wondering if there is a third-party that would accept and transmit the documents using EDI to/from the customer and provide us with the documentation/files without using EDI to/from us.

Also, is anyone out there using something other than the Tie/Epicor EDI solution?

Thanks in advance,

We use the EDI module which exports text files that are then mapped and
translated via Inovis Trusted Link for Windows. There are limitations
to the documents that can be exported/imported but it does the basics.

We have a client that is requiring EDI; however we do not have the EDI
module. I am wondering if there is a third-party that would accept and
transmit the documents using EDI to/from the customer and provide us
with the documentation/files without using EDI to/from us.

Also, is anyone out there using something other than the Tie/Epicor EDI

Thanks in advance,

We use True Commerce as an EDI provider. For inbound documents we just pull and print them and manually enter data. For outbound documents - we use crystal reports and export it to a .xls and then save as .csv for processing. (the crystal can be tricky)
SPS commerce claims to do that same sort of thing.

I missed the original message on this along the way, but we use EDI
extensively. We were not successful in setting this up with Tie and are
now using iConnect with version 8.03.408b.

We are using TIE and Vantage. I have also used iSoft/NuBridges in the
past for AS2 EDI (for Vantage and another ERP), Trusted Link for Windows
(for other ERP), and "outsourced" EDI with GXS - (for other ERP) which
really had us doing most of the mapping anyway.
