Editing Web Services

GetCustomer was the best option, it returns all fields from just the
customers table. GetRows and GetByCustID returned the full dataset,
including all ship tos. The response data went from over 6 megs down to
just 42K by using GetCustomer. Thanks for the help!

Oops - too fast on the click finger...

Depending on the data you have available to look up the customer...

GetByID or GetByCustID will get you full Dataset
GetRows will also return full dataset based upon a query

Matt,

Are you suggesting that you want to pull a few more fields from your
input data and have the web service store this information in the
database...?

I would like the web service to pull extra data from the database. I
would like it to pull the customers email address in addition to what
GetList normally pulls .

Not without the SDK.

If there are available UD fileds in the dataset for get
list then you can you a BPM to populate the fields Post process.

The other option (although slower is to use the GetRows
method and do the above also)

Another option without the SDK is just to write your own
web service.

Another option is to write a BAQ then call instead with
the dynamic query web service.

Hope that helps....

Regards,

Stephen
