EKW Biscit Zebra or Honeywell and MDM?

Until recently I was a big supporter of the Honeywell/Zebra devices that are about the size of a cell phone. The tablets with integrated scanners I’d used previously were clunky and not ergonomic. Zebra now has a scanner with an expansion back on the back side that is really a game changer. The barcode reader is on the narrow end, so you still use the device in portrait mode.

Zebra ET401 available in 8 or 10 inch screen.

I don’t think it’s suited for every user, but if you find a tablet necessary, that’s the first one I’ve seen that I don’t hate.

If using an MDM, I’m happy with JAMF and Intune etc., can we push to devices the configuration of EKW? (saving me to visit each device in our handheld fleet when I need to adjust Settings).

If not is there a way to alter the Settings for all EKW client en masse?

There is, if you enable the feature, but not all settings controlled this way though.

If you log into EKW with a user login that is Security Manager level, there is a setting where you select an empty UD table to store them, and a lot of settings gain the option of controlling their values at a company, team, or user level.

Yes - what Mike said.

You need to configure your roaming table.

Settings > Roaming > Select empty UD field (the list should only show empty fields)

If you have any settings already configured, make note of them before you select your table as it will wipe them out.

Once you have a few settings in there, for fun, build a BAQ on that table and include everything through Character 01 to see your settings.

Also, keep in mind that the devices should all be on the same version for the settings to roll out to all devices.

We use the tablets mounted on forklifts that are bluetooth to the gun style scanners along with a wifi enabled mobile printer mounted as well. This makes material handling a breeze for a forklift driver!

Tried this in one of our test Epicor Kinetic instances, picked the UD table (which updated the BAQ with it), but nothing is being saved to the UD table at all :frowning: (it’s totally empty).

Time for a support ticket I think…
