Hehe... our sales guy had a whole box of that stuff he pulled out. But
from what I've heard here in the last 1.5 yrs, the rest of Epicor hardly
knows what they are! That and those oh-so-cute employee pictures (the
BMPs) must have been purely a Requested by Marketing enhancement.

Oh yeah... and the "Document Control" stuff really had a few people ohhing
and aaahing in the demo. "Boy, I'd like to see JobTrak [our old software]
do THAT!" one VP mentioned. "Hoo Boy; feed windoze a pathname and let it
use the extension to figure out how to open a file," I mentally groaned;
that's really trick. While trying to stay awake, I came up with a scheme
to write a program to listen on a socket on the user's PC, along with the
telnet client they were already running that I could shoot pathnames into
from our "legacy" app. Never did it. Should have. But I digress :)

Which parts are you having to update? If you have a report in,
say: \epicor\vantage\myreports\my.prl, then entering a relative path like
myreports\my.prl in the Custom Report Link saves you from having to edit
the report links each time. Same goes for your Crystal stuff in Report Maint.

Yeah, you're still stuck changing the DB connections in report
builder. Wonder if there's some windoze binary editor you could get away
with using to automate that? Used to be, you could use the windoze 3.1
"write" program to modify .EXEs ?! We might FINALLY be going to 4.0 next
month. I updated all our reports last July when I got 4 up on a test
server. But nearly every dang one has changed since. Not looking forward
to re-doing all that!!

Anyone using TT5's seen the install methods for the 5.0 upgrade? No mention
of it in the manuals I received or on Epicor's website. Do you ever get the
feeling they are trying to forget about us?

Is anyone tired of editing every fricking report for each update. Why can't
they write a routine into their installation that finds all reports setup in
the menu structure and alter the parameters that change to maintain there
availability? Or search for all *.prl files and change each report in the
library?
