Create the new rev under the part first, then you will be able to use
it.

Go to part maintenance, revision tab...click on new part rev.

Then check the new part with this rev in engineering workbench...get
details from the old part....

I am trying to make a copy of a BOM under a new part number so I can
make changes to it. I am not getting their use of the revision. I used
the Letter L on the original part number but i want to use that same
revision letter on the new part number and I am not allowed to use the
letter L even though it is a different part number. Is the revision
letter tied to the group? I opened a new group and it still wouldn't let
me use the Letter L.
