Enhanced Scheduling

Joe,

We are withholding our only leverage also, had a heart-to
heart with their A/P last week. I think personnel shortages
are the main reason for our implementation woes though.

have fun,
John

Howdy,

Is there anyone out there using the Enhanced Scheduling module in 4.0? We
have visual scheduling but I am interested in the advantages that I might
gain with the Enhanced module. I am asking Epicor for information as well,
but I thought I would ask to see if I could get some information from actual
users as well. Please email me offline unless there are others interested
too. TIA

If you're talking about APS, the functionality isn't there
till v5. Any APS data you change has to be re-entered for
each job each time it is ran. The data isn't stored with
the methods. v5 supposedly fixes that. We'll be seriously
testing it shortly.

Please keep us all posted on what you find as we rely heavily on the
scheduling module to improve on our shop efficiency.

Will you keep me posted on what you find out Joe? I think the cost may be
prohibitive - I will probably be heading for visual scheduling class
soon....

Joe,

Where are you at in your implementation? We just loaded the
4.1c update, but are waiting for the consultants to return.
We started in September but are still not running.

have fun,
John

We've played with it. Our problem was that we want to use aps
to group by "group code". APS does this fine but vantage only
stored this group code in job operations. Now v5 stores it in
the part methods. Getting APS was a bad experience though.
The saleman badgered our company president to give him a PO
stating that we wouldn't have to pay till it worked. Of course
they couldn't write that on the po. They needed terms that would
be extended as needed. Their AR people used to call us quite a
bit and nobody knew about the special terms. Now since the
last obstacle is supposedly gone (v4) they want payment.
I'm in a rush to get v5 installed now. If we had it to do
over they never would have got that po. Maybe if it works
as advertised we will feel better about it. I'll keep you
all posted.
