Erica,
I submitted the same request for enhancement over 4 years ago.
It seems very straight forward and logical to have the system
calculate how much material to start with. And it is more important
when you have several operations that will have various expected
scrap rates to have the computer calculate needed material instead of
using a calculator.
I will add my name to the list of companies that wants this
enhancment.

Suggested Enhancement: Have operation scrap considered and flow back wards
on the Quote, BOM, and Job.


Purpose (Example of the business problem the enhancement would solve):

The quoting module, BOM, and Jobs do not account for scrap on an operation
automatically.


How it works Currently. Example:

Job Qty is 100pcs

Op WC Qty Scrap
10 Wind 100 0%
20 Trim 110 10%
30 QA 100 0%
40 Ship 100 0%

Material related to an operation

OP PN Qty Per Scrap Total Qty
10 123456 .1 lb 5% 10.5 lb


You would hope the system would see that you need to have 110 pcs made in op
10 also and that the material need is a greater qty to make up for the scrap
planned for in OP 20.

How it Should be Working. Example:

Job Qty is 100pcs

Op WC Qty Scrap
10 Wind 110 0%
20 Trim 110 10%
30 QA 100 0%
40 Ship 100 0%
