Enterprise Search 10.2.400 Install Issues

Hi all,

Our Enterprise Search isn’t available and isn’t working. It has probably been this way since our uplift from 9 but no one really noticed until now when someone said “It would be great if we could search Epicor for specific things”.
When I try to register a search server, I can ping the server but it fails when validating the port. Port 9098 IS opened in the firewall by the way. I do notice that the Epicor Search Indexer does not even exist in services. I have the extension successfully deployed. If I click Create Search Index, it also fails which is not unexpected since I have the issue above. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

Do you have multiple Applications Servers, i.e. Live, Pilot, test? You can only install Enterprise Search on one application on a server, usually Live. Verify in Application Server Configuration for each application. If so, uninstall on all applications servers and reinstall on only one.
In the Epicor Admin Console > Application Server Configuration. File > Uninstall > Enterprise Search.
Then close Epicor Admin Console and come back in again and run Application Server Configuration.
Go to Extensions > Enterprise Search > File > New > Enterprise Search.

I have a single application server running Live, Test and Pilot…
The new button is grayed out for Enterprise Search and the list under File → New are all gray.

Thanks,
Chris

So is it installed in all, Live, Test and Pilot? If so do an Uninstall of ES on each one. Then only do a New Install on one of them, i.e. Live.
If you want ES on all applications you would create separate ES Indexes for each one.

This is why my indexing was failing I think.

Now New is grayed out for all and the list under File → New are all gray…

Chris, I tried calling you but left a voicemail. Please create a support case in EpicCare and we can get back to you to get this installed and working. Thanks.

Sorry, I had just stepped away. I have tried but for some odd reason, my login is no longer working.

Calling you back now.

Aeron,
I think you left me a voice mail but it got deleted. My bad.
By the way, even after server updates and reboots, those items are still grayed out.

Chris, I’ve updated the support case. Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the Epicor Admin Console. See KB0044910
https://epicorcs.service-now.com/epiccare?id=epiccare_kb_article&sys_id=KB0044910

I have not. Before I can login, I am waiting for my temporary password to come through after requesting a password reset.

Aeron,

It looks easy enough but does it pick up the Application Servers and such automatically or do I have to set it all up again? And this will not effect user connectivity?

Also, c:\epicor\ERP10\ERP10.2.400.0\SupplementalInstalls\Administration\ApplicationServerManager does not exist. That SupplementalInstalls folder is empty…
