Epicor 10 Application Pool Leaks

I have not had any issues during business hours once scheduling the app pool to recycle every night. Had a slight problem yesterday when our Capture took way longer than expected and later in the day after that was finished the app pool crashed and kicked everyone off. Just frustrating that this happens and trying to resolve it myself, but it seems I may just have to wait for 10.1 to be released. I will end up having a problem in the next few months as to when to schedule the recycle since I will have an office in London beginning to use Epicor.

Usually by the end of the day the app pool is consuming around 8-9GB of RAM and it is being recycled everyday at 1:30 AM.

Yes I have seen this.

You can setup the apppool to recycle automatically (in case you are doing this manually) but this is not a fix just a work around.

Typically you have little control over this unless it is self-inflicted though the use of BPM’s (even the wizards sometimes can produce bad logic).

There are various tools you can use to profile the memory and identify the cause of the issue, but this is not for the faint of heart and when you do identify the issue you will probably get the 10.1 response.
I was investigating memory leaks in MRP (large BOM’s, 5K jobs) which are reported to be solved now in 10.1 also.

Although it is an annoyance, operationally what impact is the scheduled recycle actually causing?

Anyone have experience in troubleshooting application pool leaks, specifically Epicor. I am forced to recycle the app pool every night (suggested by tech support) which I should not have to do. The other answer I get from support is that it will be fixed in 10.1, but I need to fix this sooner than that.

Thanks,

Ted

Not seeing that at all here and we’ve been Live for a couple months.  I have not touched the Live DB App Pool in over a month.  On go live weekend we did have Epicor’s performance tuning group do an emergency tune up and they set a whole bunch of timeout settings and other things (via an automated process they had so I don’t know the details) and everything has been smooth sailing since.  I got the feeling Ben Nixon’s people knew a fair bit more about 10 than the regular Support people.   An hour or two web ex session with Ian Bustamante might be well worth it.
