Epicor 9.05.702 - Dashboard with Crystal Report View - Data set wrong

Dashboard Developer the report runs fine, displays data, etc…

After generating the runtime and running dashboard from menu:

It appears that the dashboard only displays data in C:\_BAQReports\SampleData\JC701.xml

How do you have is display what’s currently in the dashboard?

Patrick Winter

Make sure to uncheck save data with report in Crystal…Then link with your data…

HI

A couple of things I found with Dashboard Reports -

1) when running the dashboard in Developer mode - you need to run a xml of sample data and link the sample xml created by the dashboard to the report. It has to come from the dashboard. (sounds like you did this).

Not from the BAQ Report Designer.

2) any time I make a change the .RPT file - I have to delete the report from the dashboard and re-add it. the report would never upload for me after the first time.  If you use the report link instead it works better but I prefer the report view. you don't need to reload the report every time. My users prefer the report in the dashboard.

3) The best way is to have a CustomReports/Development folder where you create and edit the .RPT for the dashboard (or any other report). When you upload the .RPT into the Dashboard - it copies it from the Development folder to the Custom Reports folder. (MAKE SURE you change the Report Options under Tools/Report Tools - to point to the development library)

4) you also need to recompile the dashboard and deploy it - each time you make a change if you are testing it from a menu item and not within the Dashboard Developer.

There is more - but those I found to cause me problems

Have a great day

Hi

Curious - in your Tools/Report Tools/Report Options for the Dashboard -

where are you pointing for your sample data?

Did you try clearing the dashboard report cache? it is selected off of Tools/Report Options.

I will continue thinking on this
