Epicor 9.05.702 - Update a PO Release Charater03 user field

I am getting this message on update of PORel.Date01.  Did you happen to figure it out?

Epicor 9.05.702 - Update a PO Release Charater03 user field.

If the PO is approved and I didn’t want to unapproved the PO to put a comment in the PORel.Character03 field.

How would I do this?

I tried an updatable dashboard but it still gets blocked.

Text:  Program:Server/bo/PO/PO.p Method:poRelBeforeUpdate Message:The PO had been approved.  Changes not allowed.

Any suggestions?

Or I would use Memos but you can’t link PO Memo’s to PO’s in a BAQ because the PO Number is numeric and the memo.Key1 field is character.

Any way around that?
