Since Epicor 9 is a 32-bit app, you should use the 32-bit ODBC
administrator (even to connect to a 64-bit SQL Server). Of course this
only an issue if you are running Epicor 9 on 64-bit Windows Server in
which case you create your DSNs using C:\WINDOWS\system32 \odbcad32. exe.

the security permissions on the database itself. I dont have access to
our server right now but I know we got it to work with the right

Hi everyone,

Current we are doing the installation for Epicor 9 on Server A and SQL Server 2005 on Server B. But during the installation of Epicor 9, an error pop up show an error "SQL Server doesnt exist or access denied". I try to do an ODBC with the SQL Server 2005 and test it and it show successful.I really unsure which part did i do wrong as i was following the Epicor 9 installation guide.

I hope someone can give me some guidance or advice. Thank you very much.

Adrian,

Not had that problem with a Vantage installation but Ive had issues with SQL Servers security when using a separate server to connect to the DB. Ive also seen some oddities with the instance name used where youve typed the instance name perfectly but it doesnt work copy and paste and it works.

Sorry I couldnt be more help but I dont have too much experience with SQL installations of Vantage.

Regards

Martin Horton
