Epicor 9 Replication Server Setup

1. Replication is only required if you have progress. Sonic is installed on the Progress App Server typically. MSQL should be installed on another server

2. It is strongly encourages to get SQL 2008 R2. As for enterprise vs standard it depends on your needs, we went standard. As for CAL's its all depends on how many users you plan on having access the SQL server and number of applications. You have 2 options per user CAL or per Processor CAL. Cost break for per CPU is around 20 - 30 user cals.

Subject: [Vantage] Epicor 9 Replication Server Setup

We are looking at setting up replication service with Epicor 9.05. Some
questions on how to set this up:

1. Setup / hardware - should we have 1 server for the sql db or 2
servers - one for the sql db and one for the sonic services

2. If we purchase SQL - what version do we need and how does it
need to be licensed? Ie. Do we need CAL's for every Epicor user?
