Epicor and server backup with AppAssure

I'm still running the old version 4 Appassure client on my Epicor server, but I haven't experience any performance issues with it.

Hi All

Epicor 9.05.701 - Progress 1.02a

I didn't find any info on this so i thought i will post the question here
and see if someone has any suggestion.

We installed Dell AppAssure server backup on our Epicor server.
We did the installation at night and the next morning we right away started
to see extreme slowdowns in using epicor and some users got the error of
"no servers available"
Also we recognized that the disk space on server started dwindling down
very fast and after some research we found that the temp files started
building huge files in there.

We uninstalled the AppAssure and restarted the server and everything went
back to normal.
So we decided to test again and do a second install after 2 weeks and again
the next day epicor slowed to a crawl and the same symptoms again.

Does anyone have more info about this or any suggestions.

Ephraim

We have Dell AppAssure and if you installed the server (not the client) on your Epicor server, I'm surprised it stayed up and running at all. Â AppAssure is a resource hog and for the server end Dell recommends Windows Server 2012 because of its better handling of memory and large data structures.

I installed AppAssure on Epicor two weeks ago and everything is working fine. At first it was slow because it had to do the initial snapshot so I would suggest to force a snapshot to run it at night.
