# Epicor Attachment size Limit **Category:** [Epicor ERP 9](https://www.epiusers.help/c/e9/7) **Created:** 2017-01-18 19:45 UTC **Views:** 1749 **Replies:** 3 **URL:** https://www.epiusers.help/t/epicor-attachment-size-limit/36941 --- ## Post #1 by @Kimberley Is there a file size limit for Epicor when attaching files? --- ## Post #2 by @aidacra Attachments aren't stored within the Epicor database itself, so depending on the method of attachment (file link, having Epicor copy the selected file to a file share, or Sharepoint) the destination storage location of the actual file might (e.g. File System / Sharepoint limitations). In practice, there isn't really a limit. --- ## Post #3 by @hkeric.wci So No one is stopping me from attaching a 2GB .iso image file... now if i was a bad employee I could create a 800GB .iso file and have some fun with Infrastructure and simply saying "oops, mistake" yet i brought down a server by consuming all of its disk-space. --- ## Post #4 by @aidacra I find that seeing the world through the eyes of a person who will do everything in their ability to try to break whatever it is they ware using is beneficial to an IT person. Now you know what can be done so now you can try to prevent someone from actually doing that and/or mitigating the risk. From the mitigation of risk perspective: ideally file attachments shouldn't be stored on the same volume as the OS or any other volume where there is a critical piece of software so that worst case is that a user can't add new attachments instead of crashing a server. --- **Canonical:** https://www.epiusers.help/t/epicor-attachment-size-limit/36941 **Original content:** https://www.epiusers.help/t/epicor-attachment-size-limit/36941
