Howard Schultz at Insights 2019

Howard grew up in public housing in Brooklyn, and was the first in his family to graduate college. As a young entrepreneur, he set out to build a different kind of company, one that delivers business excellence through a culture of compassion. Under his leadership, Starbucks grew from eleven stores to more than 28,000 in 77 countries, while pioneering programs like comprehensive healthcare, stock ownership and free college tuition for full and part-time employees. In 2018, Starbucks ranked fifth on Fortune’s list of “World’s Most Admired Companies.”

Along with his wife, Sheri, Howard also is co-founder of the Schultz Family Foundation. His most recent book, “From the Ground Up: A Journey to Reimagine the Promise of America,” (2019), chronicles his childhood experiences alongside his journey to redefine the role and responsibility of a company in society today. Howard’s groundbreaking initiatives through Starbucks and the Schultz Family Foundation have extended employment and educational opportunities to hundreds of thousands of people.

In June 2018, Howard stepped down from Starbucks and became chairman emeritus.

Also he is potentially running for president so there’s that…

This is a great keynote pick IMHO. There’s a good interview with Alec Baldwin - who’s actually quite a good interviewer for whatever else you might think of him.

Great keynote choice, agreed!

I was getting worried of who they may book given this year’s entertainment choice.

Great news.
And as long as he runs as either a Democratic or a Republican candidate; i wish him good luck!

And that should be moved to Off Topic where I would happily discuss it with you.

Another good choice…

I just ran across this interview with Howard Schultz and am in the middle of it. Since I know many of you listen to podcasts I though someone might be interested.
