Epicor is offline after Upg to W11

This morning, I have a remote user who decided not to follow protocol… and said say yes to the windows upgrade question.
So he was now under W11.

Everything else worked, access to emails, network drives etc. Expect Epicor.

Kept getting Epicor is offline…

I was able to connect remotely to his computer and did some tests and His account worked on a remote computer so it is not the expired pw issue.

I was wandering if anyone were successful at upgrading to W11 and using Epicor…

what kind of application binding are you using?

pls specify… binding…

we are on prem.
calling epicor under c:\prog specifying the specific config file to use…

I suspect maybe the firewall Windows installs by default…

Piere

The binding meaning how Epicor server communicates with Epicor client, whether it be net/tcp or https or whatever. It will say it in your sysconfig
image

I guess what I’m wondering is if there is a firewall blocking that communication

Can you ping that server from your machine?

EndpointBinding value=“UsernameSslChannel”

sorry I can no longer continue this…
We ended up cancel the upgrade by going back to the user previous working version. (we had a backup)

thanks for your input. But this will need to get tested further later on…

Thanks for flagging this @Hogardy . We did a W11 test but we’re using TCP binding and deploying as a RemoteApp over RDS, so we’re not trying to install or run the client. The RemoteApps will run on pretty much anything if its screen is big enough, but I haven’t yet managed to get K21 running with RemoteApps.

Just a note to all, Windows 11 testing is being undertaken by the Kinetic team at this time, it is not currently a supported platform for any version of Epicor. We are not expecting major issues, but you never know what will be found. As always upgrade carefully.

If you have the ability to set Group Policy for your org, here is example of forcing version 21H1 that is not windows 11.
